Makroblend® Product Range Brochure

Makroblend® is an engineering plastic that combines the outstanding properties of polycarbonate (PC) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET). 




Apec® High-Heat Polycarbonate —
This material is characterized by its high transparency, toughness and strength with a higher heat resistance compared to Makrolon®. It is suitable for limited reuse after highheat steam autoclaving up to 143°C.

 Thermoplastic polyurethane Desmopan® offers high wear resistance, flexibility across a wide range of temperatures, and high elasticity over the entire hardness range. It also possesses excellent resistance to oils, greases and solvents as well as good resistance to weathering and high-energy radiation. In addition the Desmopan® CQ range also offers a reduced carbon footprint without compromising on quality or performance.

Makroblend® resins have a property profile that includes high toughness (even at low temperatures); good chemical resistance to many lubricants, solvents and cleaning agents; reduced susceptibility to stress cracking; great paintability and low moisture uptake.

Makrolon® polycarbonate is extremely robust, lightweight with glass-like transparency and is impact resistant – even at low temperatures. It also has a high dimensional stability and is easily molded, yet displays excellent heat resistance with a glass transition temperature of up to 148ºC.

Texin® thermoplastic polyurethanes are available in grades that go from very soft and flexible to very rigid. Many grades of Texin® TPU comply with FDA food-contact regulations and several meet the biocompatibility requirements of FDA-modified ISO 10993-1 tests.
